Travis Manion Foundation Service Project

Over the course of the spring semester, CEC students took part in the school's first Character and Leadership Course through our partnership with the Travis Manion Foundation.

Through CEC's Center for Student Leadership and with special help from the Danaher Lynch Family Foundation, students were paired with veteran mentors, networked with CEC alumni, and ultimately worked with other local nonprofits and businesses to plan/execute their very own student service project. Throughout the semester, students completed boot camp style activities, took field trips, and ultimately developed their own leadership philosophies. This year's project was the restoration of the grounds, and installation of a vegetable garden for the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter.

Our project this year is dedicated to the memory of Scott Craven, CEC graduate and Captain/Instructor Pilot with the US Air Force at Moody AFB GA. Scott's life was tragically cut short in an automobile accident in 2006.

Special thanks to the DLFF, the CEC EAST department, The Travis Manion Foundation, Snipes Farm & Education Center, Fairless Hills & Tullytown Home Depot, and of course our neighbors, the Emergency Homeless Shelter!
