Be an Eagle for a Day!

A shadow day is an opportunity for you to be an "Eagle for a Day." Eighth grade students are welcome to visit CEC throughout the fall and spring semesters, and seventh grade students are welcome during the spring semester.

The Shadow Program for the 2024-2025 school year is now open!

Prospective students must submit an Application for Admission in order to schedule a Shadow Day.

  • Once your Application for Admission is submitted, you'll find the next steps to schedule your Shadow Day in your student portal.

A Shadow Day is the perfect way for you to experience a day in the life of a CEC student.

The opportunity for you to visualize where you will attend class, get involved, and study is an important piece in the search for the right school. In fact, studies have shown that students who visit a campus are twice as likely to enroll as students who do not visit. To ensure that you have an opportunity to see our school, we have developed and launched a Virtual Shadow Day.

Led by two CEC students, this video includes the ability to see campus buildings inside and out, and experience inside knowledge that provides a sense of being on campus without actually traveling to CEC. We hope it provides another opportunity to help you as you consider your options for high school.

We hope to see you soon, future Eagles!

What time should I arrive at CEC, and where should I go?
Shadows report to the main office at 7:20 a.m. CEC ambassadors will pick up their shadows by 7:30 a.m. School is dismissed at 1:30 p.m. Shadows can be picked up in in the main office at the end of the day. Shadows must enter the building through our main entrance.

What do I do for lunch?
Shadows will be given a voucher to use in the cafeteria to purchase a lunch.

What should I wear?
CEC maintains a uniform dress code. We ask that shadows adhere to our dress code.

Boys: Dress pants, dress shoes, and a collared shirt. Polo style shirts are acceptable. Students who currently attend a Catholic school must wear their school uniform.

Girls: Dress pants or a dress skirt and dress shoes. Students who currently attend a Catholic school must wear their school uniform.

Absolutely NO sleeveless or mid-drift tops allowed. Shadows will not be allowed to attend classes if they are inappropriately dressed.

When can I Shadow?
A student can shadow any day of the week CEC has classes. *Please note we do not allow shadows immediately prior to and during Final Exams. Eighth graders are welcome to shadow throughout the year. Seventh graders during the spring semester. Please call one week in advance to schedule a shadow day. This is important as spaces are limited.
