Hybrid Model Addendum

As CEC transitions to a hybrid learning model this fall, please see the following guidelines as an addendum to the 2020-2021 Student Handbook.

HYBRID MODEL ADDENDUM

  • Attendance
    • All students are expected to attend school on their assigned in-school day. If a student has any symptoms of illness, they are encouraged to stay home from school. A parent/guardian must contact the Office for Student Life to report the in-school absence and indicate whether or not the student will attend classes virtually in order to still be present for the day.
    • All students are expected to attend classes virtually on their assigned virtual day. Attendance will be taken each period by the teachers based on who is present via Zoom. If a student is unable to attend class on an assigned virtual day, a parents/guardian must contact the Office for Student Life to report the absence.

  • Backpacks/Lockers
    • Lockers will not be used while the Hybrid Model is in place.
    • Backpacks will be permitted.
    • Students should only bring necessary items to school.
    • Jackets/Sweatshirts will be placed on student desks in the classroom.
    • Since classes will have a maximum of 17 students, there will be plenty of room for backpacks and jackets/sweatshirts in the classrooms.

  • Masks
    • Students must wear a mask at all times while in classrooms, hallways, and stairwells.
    • Students must wear a mask in the cafeteria unless they are seated at their individual desk.
    • All masks must be plain. No writing, emblems, or signage is permitted unless it is distributed by or purchased from CEC.
    • Students are urged to keep their masks clean for their own health and presentable as part of their uniform.

  • Virtual Day Expectations
    • Only CEC email accounts are permitted for Zoom.
    • Students must use their full first and last name as their Zoom name.
    • Cameras must be on during class so the student can be viewed by the teacher.
    • Typical classroom expectations apply (eating, cell phone use, etc.).
    • All video recording and picture taking is prohibited.
    • No virtual backgrounds are permitted.
    • Background settings must be appropriate as deemed by the teacher or administration.
    • Students must wear their CEC polo or ¼ zip.
    • Students are not permitted to lay down during class.
    • Students should be using their CEC issued device or a personal laptop or tablet. Cell phones should not be used for virtual learning.
    • Cameras should only view students from the waist up.
