Alumni Spotlight: 5 Questions with Amanda Page '13

Ms. Amanda Page '13 is our first featured guest in our Alumni Spotlight series! Here, we ask CEC alumni to answer five questions about themselves to help our community get to know them better and highlight the success of our graduates.

Tell Us About Yourself
My name is Amanda Page and I am a 2013 graduate of Conwell-Egan Catholic. After graduating cum laude with my B.A. in Dance Performance and a minor in Arts Administration from Rider University, I made the leap to open my own dance studio in Yardley, PA: Amanda Page Dance Company. I have trained in all styles of dance including ballet, jazz, hiphop, contemporary, tap, lyrical, musical theatre, acrobatics, and modern since the age of 6.

During my time at Rider, I trained at the Princeton Ballet school 4 days a week. Additionally, I performed in the Rider Dances production annually and choreographed and performed in the Rider Dance Ensemble shows each semester. I currently teach dance class as an elective at Villa Joseph Marie High School in Holland, PA.

What are you passionate about in your work?
I am extremely passionate about my students. I truly care about them and want to support them in any way they need. Their talent encourages me to stay current and knowledgeable in the dance industry so that I can make sure my students will always be successful.

What is one of your favorite things about your job?
One of my favorite things about my job is of course getting to dance all day, but I would say the most rewarding part of my job is keeping a good relationship with my alumni and seeing them go on to do amazing things. It just proves to me time and time again that what I'm doing matters and is worth it.

In what ways has your CEC experience had an impact on your career and who you are today?
CEC has had a huge impact on my life and my dance journey. During my time at CEC, I took every opportunity I could to dance and perform, including talent shows and four year of Spirit Night, even being awarded "Best Dancer" Senior superlative in 2013. However, the most impactful must be the endless support I have received from my graduating class and all the people I met at CEC throughout the years. It was and still is a family and they will always have my support in all they do as well.

How do you support CEC today?
I'm happy to support CEC by attending as many events as possible, especially my favorite - Spirit Night! It's an exciting experience now especially since some of my dance students are now in it and we get to bond over all the memories and traditions that still carry on today. I will always speak extremely fondly of my time of CEC and wouldn't change a thing about it.
