CEC Swim Makes a Splash in the Postseason

CEC’s Swim program made an immediate impact in 2025-2026, capping off a historic first year with an impressive showing at both the PCL Championships and the District 12 AA Championships this past February

Across the season, the Eagles delivered standout performances, with 88% of their races resulting in personal bests or dropped times, an incredible accomplishment for a program in its first year. Both the boys and girls teams finished 7th overall at the PCL Championships and 7th overall at the District 12 AA Championships, reflecting their rapid growth.

melodyBeyond the results in the pool, the team earned praise from coaches, officials, and parents from other schools for their sportsmanship, dedication, and teamwork throughout the season.

Several swimmers also earned top-six finishes and postseason honors. At the PCL Championships, Melody Garcia ’27 placed 5th in the 500 Freestyle, earning Second Team All-Catholic honors, while the boys’ 400 Free Relay team of Chase Christiansen ’29, Ben Long ’27, William Johnson ’29, and Brendan King ’27 placed 6th and earned Second Team All-Catholic recognition.

At the District 12 AA Championships, multiple relay teams earned All-District honors. The girls’girls 200 Medley Relay team of Elizabeth Naphy ’28, Jessica Naphy ’26, Melody Garcia ’27, and Orla Jacoby ’27 placed 6th overall, while the boys’ 200 Free Relay team of Chase Christiansen, Ben Long, Vaughn McCann ’29, and Brendan King finished 4th overall. Individually, Chase Christiansen earned Second Team All-District honors in the 100 Butterfly and First Team All-District Runner-Up honors in the 100 Backstroke. The girls’ 400 Free Relay team of Orla Jacoby, Molly Balcer, Elizabeth Naphy, and Mia Domenic placed 5th, also earning Second Team All-District recognition.

boysFor a program in its very first season, the Eagles set a strong foundation for the future. With a season full of personal bests, team success, and postseason honors, CEC swimming has already begun building a lasting legacy in the pool.

CEC will compete in official meets in the 2026-2027 season.
