Edelman Fossil Park with CEC Alum Alison Moyer

This week, freshman Biology students took a trip to the Rowan University Edleman Fossil Park for a day of some serious learning!

Purchased in 2016 thanks to the generosity of Jean and Ric Edelman, plans for the park include establishing a world-class museum and visitor center focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education; laboratory spaces for research; a paleontology-themed playground; and social spaces. Community Dig Days and other educational programs for schoolchildren and community groups will continue.

Currently, Conwell-Egan graduate and paleotologist Alison Moyer is the Director of Education with the park! Alison is one of our Center for Student Leadership Executives In Residence for the year. Students learned about the origins of the park, a brief history of the types of fossils located here, and spent over 2 hours digging them up!  Thank you to Dr. Moyer and everyone at the park for giving us an up close and personal lesson and sharing your story with us.

Give back to CEC

Nothing shows CEC pride better than giving back! A gift to the CEC Drive helps ensure the financial strength of CEC. We encourage alumni, parents, and friends of CEC to donate to this fund to enhance the overall quality of the school, education, and advancement in technology.
