Donna McGinley, Bishop Egan class of 1964, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018. She taught at Bishop Conwell and Conwell-Egan Catholic from September of 1968 until June of 2011. She was a devoted member of the English department, specializing in British Literature and writing. She had a reputation that followed her for being a very tough teacher with a very strong personality. She always made time for her students and for anyone who needed a listening ear. She stayed involved in the school community, moderating the Drama program and the newspaper at Bishop Conwell as well as the yearbook, Stomp team, and newspaper at Conwell-Egan Catholic. She wrote the Conwell-Egan Catholic Alma Mater that is still sung with pride by the school community. She was influential in the STAR program at CEC, helping the students who needed the most academic support. She stayed grounded in her faith and was noted as being prayerful. She didn’t let any obstacles get in her way and received her strength from God.
