The main Patron Saint of our School is St. Francis of Assisi. He was known for his humility, his joy, and his witness to Jesus Christ through his actions.
St. Francis was born in Assisi, Italy in the 12th century. He was away from the Church in his youth but received a call from God to go and rebuild the Church while living a life of poverty. He gave up a life of luxury and wealth to go and serve God.
We as Conwell-Egan Catholic Eagles strive to follow the example of St. Francis of Assisi by being humble, sharing joy, and serving God in our lives. We celebrate St. Francis of Assisi on his feast day, October 4th, but we strive to follow his example daily.
St. Francis of Assisi was instituted as our Patron Saint thanks to the instrumental dedication of the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular (TORs) of the Sacred Heart Province. They were instrumental to our founding in 1957, having 7 of their friars on our staff. They showed us what it meant to live like St. Francis and we strive to emulate their example of peace and humility.
